  • Present ideas on what is Ubuntu and how it should be practiced
  • Initiate discussions on Ubuntu and solicit additional ideas on how we can maintain and enhance the Practice of Ubuntu.
  • To finally have a digital platform to conserve all important information on the Practice of Ubuntu for us and the generations to come

“Ubuntu philosophy is driven by the understanding that I am fully me because of you.”

  • It would be nice if every religious practice would identify its similarities with ubuntu and highlight those similarities for the people who practice that particular religion.
  • Governments would also help if they were to help the community understand that ubuntu can link many religions and therefore it can be identified as the glue between people and all walks of life, including religion.

How to strengthen Ubuntu? PDF Print E-mail

  • Each country would benefit greatly if it were to establish Ubuntu Ministries in government in order to institutionalize Ubuntu. In South Africa and other African countries there are moral regeneration initiatives by governments, which should be labeled uniquely, using the word that signifies what the initiative was intended for.
  • In many African countries there are heritage related holidays during which ubuntu should be celebrated. On these days families should then get together and celebrate their heritage, at home.

Conception and Pregnancy PDF Print E-mail

When you hear or know of an African woman being pregnant is the best thing to do the following:.

  • Make them as comfortable as you can.
  • Allow them to lead the conversation regarding their pregnancy.
  • Avoid personal discussions unless they raise it.
  • If you are a woman and participate in the Baby shower then you have an opportunity to ask a few questions as this a Western event in which the pregnant woman is usually relaxed to talk to other women about her pregnancy. It is very rare and extremely unusual for a man to participate in a Baby shower and therefore unless you are the father of the child or the doctor it is very difficult to talk about the pregnancy to a woman. Even brothers used to find it difficult to ask about these things.
  • If you know the father just a congratulations to him will do and let them open the issue if they want to.
